Venedik Sütunu
Venedik Sütunu (Venetian Column) is a prominent historical monument located in the heart of Lefkoşa, Kıbrıs. Erected in the 15th century by the Venetians, this marble column was originally brought from the ancient city of Salamis and placed in the city’s central square. The column once featured the Lion of St. Mark, a symbol of Venetian authority, which was removed after the Ottoman conquest. Today, Venedik Sütunu stands as a symbol of Lefkoşa’s rich history, representing the blend of Venetian and Ottoman influences. It remains a significant attraction, drawing both locals and visitors to appreciate its historical importance.
